Option 2 – Program Policies

ZAPBC is not a provincial or federal government program. As such, all incentives are subject to change at any time without notice as they are directly linked to available funding.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

You may experience some difficulties with your home charger installation if you:

  • Do not have your own electrical meter (not shared with any other residence or suite within your residence/building).
  • Do not have a WiFi (internet connection). Also, the WiFi connection must be strong enough to reach the charging location in the garage. If it’s not, you may need a booster.
  • Live in a stratified property. Depending on the requirements of your individual strata, you may or may not be able to install a charger. It’s up to you to find out the requirements for your property. Useful step-by-step information can be found on the Metro Vancouver website.
  • Do not have a major credit card.

APPLICATION

  • All applicants must understand that for the 2019 calendar year we have a maximum of 1,000 rebates available for our customers. We will stop accepting applications when the limit is reached. We expect to have more rebates available in 2020, but cannot guarantee that until funding is confirmed (late 2019).
  • You must complete our online application.
  • All customers must apply to our program PRIOR to purchasing the charger. If you purchased a ChargePoint charger PRIOR to April 15, 2019 that purchase is not eligible for a rebate through our program. Only customers who applied to our program (prior to the purchase, and after April 15, 2019) are eligible for a rebate.
  • All applicants who choose Option 2 agree that they are responsible for arranging their own installation within the time limit stated below.
  • Applicants are only entitled to the incentive that is offered on the date of your application. In order to receive this incentive, you must complete the installation process within 30 days of your application date. (For clarity: If you apply to our program and do not have a charger installed in your home within 30 days of the application date, you will lose any and all entitlement to an incentive. There is no exception to this). If your installation is not complete within 30 days, your application will close automatically and you will have to re-apply to our program.
  • Applicants must be the registered owner of the home, or have the written permission from their Landlord in order to install an EV charger.
  • All applicants must understand that you will be agreeing with all of the program’s policies outlined on this page when you apply.
  • In our application process you will be asked to agree with our Privacy Policy. It can be viewed here.
  • Incentives are limited to one (1) per household. If you require more than one EV charger, please contact us.

DO NOT RECYCLE THE CHARGER BOX IMMEDIATELY!

In order to receive this rebate, you must keep the box the charger was purchased in. You must cut out the UPC code sticker with the serial number on it. You must keep this as it is required in order to complete your claim. An example of the UPC code sticker can be viewed here.

REBATE CLAIMS

  • All customers must understand the documentation requirements for a rebate and submit the correct information, in the correct format.
  • All customers must understand that if the correct information is not submitted to ZAPBC within 30 days of the date of application, the file will be closed and the customer will lose all entitlement to a rebate.
  • All customers must understand that ZAPBC will only follow-up with you one time if there are errors in the documentation you submit. Further, the one time follow-up policy will be deemed to have been satisfied by ZAPBC if we are able to produce an email record of the request being sent to the email address the customer provided in the application. ZAPBC will not responsible for a recipient’s spam filters, lost missing, or accidentally deleted emails, lost cell phones, computer crashes, or any other reason a customer may choose to present as a rationale for non-receipt.
